1. General Safety Rules
- Never send money before seeing the item. If someone pressures you, walk away.
- Meet in a public place. Police station car parks, busy shopping areas, or banks are ideal.
- Bring a friend. Never meet a stranger alone.
- Meet during daytime. Avoid evening or night meetings unless absolutely necessary.
- Check the item carefully before paying — no matter how good the deal looks.
- Trust your gut. If it feels off, it probably is.
2. For Buyers
- Verify the seller's name, phone number, and profile history before meeting.
- Check the listing photos — do they look real or stock-photo-ish?
- Ask for extra photos, especially of serial numbers or ID details for high-value items.
- Beware of "too good to be true" prices.
- Never pay via bank transfer before seeing the item.
- For vehicles, ask to see the registration and matching chassis/engine numbers in person.
- For electronics, test the device before paying.
- For property rentals, never pay a deposit without visiting the property.
3. For Sellers
- Never share banking details with strangers — especially not a "buyer" overseas.
- Do not accept overpayments — this is a classic scam. Someone sends extra "by mistake" and asks for a refund, then reverses the original payment.
- Do not ship items before receiving full payment.
- Meet in a safe, public place with good lighting.
- Consider bringing someone with you for high-value items.
- Verify cash for authenticity if you're accepting GYD or USD.
- Trust your instincts about a buyer — if they seem pushy or evasive, cancel.
4. Common Red Flags
- Buyer or seller refuses to meet in person
- Requests to communicate only through encrypted apps that hide identity
- Urgency — "I need this today, just send the deposit"
- Overpayment and refund requests
- Requests to move the deal off 592Markit.com to avoid traceability
- Photos that look professionally produced but item is priced very low
- Seller refuses to show the item working or in its current state
- Buyer wants to use a payment method you don't recognise or trust
5. Safe Meeting Checklist
- Meeting in a public place
- Told a friend or family member where you're going
- Phone fully charged
