592Markit.com respects intellectual property rights. We comply with Guyanese copyright law, including the Copyright Act 1956 (as amended), and respond to legitimate notices of infringement.
2. Filing a Copyright Complaint
If you believe content on 592Markit.com infringes your copyright, email copyright@592markit.com with the following information:
- Your details — full name, address, phone, email.
- Identification of the work — title, description, and (if applicable) registration number.
- Location of infringing content — the exact URL of the listing.
- Good-faith statement — "I have a good faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- Accuracy statement — "I declare that the information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that I am the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf."
- Your signature — physical or electronic.
3. What We Do
- We acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days.
- We review the notice and may remove or disable access to the reported content.
- We notify the seller who posted it, if applicable.
- We may ask for further information.
4. Counter-Notice
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice to copyright@592markit.com with:
- Your details
- Identification of the removed content
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed in error
- Consent to jurisdiction of the courts of Guyana
- Your signature
We may restore the content if the original complainant does not take legal action within a reasonable timeframe.
5. Repeat Infringers
Users who repeatedly post infringing content will have their accounts suspended or permanently banned. We maintain records of complaints for this purpose.
6. Fair Use
Sellers may use brief quotations, thumbnails, or fair-use references to copyrighted material for descriptive purposes. Outright reposting of others' work as your own is not permitted.
7. Trademark Complaints
For trademark issues (brand names, logos used without permission), email the same address and label your message Trademark Complaint. We handle these under the same process.
